The FlameThrowers hosted the Vancouver Riptide in their first visit to Galileo Field on Sunday, June 1. The weather was warm and the wind, a significant factor in earlier home games, was its usual W-E self, lighter than in past games and building slightly as the game wore on.

The FlameThrowers-Raptors game began in San Francisco under mostly sunny skies with winds in the 10-12 mph range and occasional gusts higher. The FlameThrowers began pulling upwind, and scored the first goal after throwaways from both teams. The next several points followed in similar fashion.

San Francisco, April 23, 2014 – The San Francisco FlameThrowers and Fury, an elite women’s Ultimate team also out of San Francisco, have reached an agreement to join forces and support the growth of Ultimate in the Bay Area. In collaboration with the SF FlameThrowers and the Bay Area Disc Association, Fury will conduct clinics focused on player development for local league players. The FlameThrowers will also make a cash donation, which Fury will use to pay for practice fields. Additionally, the agreement provides a fundraising opportunity for Fury. As an affiliate partner of the SF FlameThrowers, Fury may sell tickets to FlameThrowers’ games and receive a portion of the proceeds from ticket sales.
San Francisco, April 11, 2014 – The San Francisco FlameThrowers and the Bay Area Disc Association have reached an agreement to work together in an effort to support player development and playing opportunities in the Bay Area. The FlameThrowers will support Bay Area Disc through a combination of cash and in-kind donations, as well as support for player development clinics. The agreement also provides an additional fundraising opportunity for the Bay Area Disc Association. In exchange for featuring information about upcoming games for the SF FlameThrowers, Bay Area Disc will receive a portion of the proceeds from ticket sales.
Callahan Award winner and multiple national champion Alex Nord joins the San Francisco FlameThrowers.
San Francisco, February 14, 2014 – The San Francisco FlameThrowers are pleased to announce that Alex Nord will play with the team for the 2014 season. Truly a player that needs no introduction, Alex won the Callahan Award as the top college player with CUT at Carleton, a team he also led to a national championship. He continued to transform the game in Seattle where he added three more titles with Sockeye.
Multiple national and 2009 World Games champion “Sammy C-K” joins the San Francisco FlameThrowers.
San Francisco, February 14, 2014 – Continuing their already strong recruiting for the 2014 inaugural season, The San Francisco FlameThrowers have added Sam Chatterton-Kirchmeier to their roster. Sammy grew up with a disc in his hand, playing in Seattle’s well-established youth scene from a young age. A mainstay wherever he’s played, he earned 3 national titles with Seattle Sockeye and a gold medal in Taiwan as a member of the 2009 US World Games team.
Eli Janin, Nick Slovan, and Zane Rankin join the San Francisco FlameThrowers.
San Francisco, February 13, 2014 –The San Francisco FlameThrowers are pleased to announce that Eli Janin, Nick Slovan, and Zane Rankin have signed with the team for the 2014 season. Eli and Nick won a championship with Blackbird in 2012, and Zane brings young leadership as captain of UC Berkeley UGMO.
